Dear Friends of TOP,
Welcome to our website and thank you for your interest in TOP Vietnam Veterans.
It is incredibly satisfying to better the lives of veterans and families, Vietnamese orphans, elderly, leprosy victims, and tribal villagers. Our proven programs are models for constructive change. We are flattered that there are some who try to replicate our blueprint; there may be look-a-likes, but there is only one TOP. We are the original.
TOP offers alternative solutions for war veterans and families. Our foundation gives veterans and families the environment for healing & closure via a process powered by the hearts of those who support and make up TOP.
Our humanitarian works are conducted hands-on by veterans and families. By helping others we help ourselves. We conduct much of our work in areas often unsupported by large charities. Gifts & donations do not get lost in a bureaucratic labyrinth. Faces of the human beings we help are not blurred by, or lost in, a large crowd.
TOP searches for, retrieves and reunites personal effects with surviving families and veterans. It is our way of thanking veterans for their service, and families for their sacrifice.
TOP also serves as a community resource--disseminating information about veterans, the war, and Vietnam today. The Education Program bridges understanding between American, International and veteran communities. We dispel old stereotypes of war and veterans.
TOP is not about being “big” or solving all the worlds’ problems. To the contrary, we strive to keep our groups small, personal, and intimate. We measure success one person at a time . . . one returned personal effect at a time . . . one humanitarian project at a time . . . one triumph at a time. No one person is too insignificant; no project is too small. The impact we make on the life of one person affects us all. Since our 1990's inception, our highly personal, high quality, one-step-at-a-time philosophy and approach adds up to big accomplishments.
We are a non-political & nonreligious small nonprofit foundation that personally oversees contributions. TOP does not spend money on expensive marketing, consultants, and slick, pricey newsletters. Our staff and budget are lean. TOP oversees humanitarian projects, on-site. Your contribution buys what it is supposed to buy, and is used for whom, or what, it is supposed to be used.
TOP exists because of our friends and supporters. Together, we give veterans, families and Vietnamese opportunities to believe in themselves. TOP is growing where we are needed–constrained only by financial resources. (Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.) With your help, TOP Vietnam Veterans continues to stand for who and what we are, committed to programs that help Vietnam veterans, families and Vietnamese who need it.
